Mai Thai Restaurant is only 10 minutes walk from both the Dalai Lama's temple complex and the bus stand of McLeod Ganj is set in the picturesque surroundings of a pine forest, Himalayan oak and deodar forest.
The restaurant is located in the forest on the edge of town the surrounds are pollution free. It is a leisurely 10 minute walk to the bus stand of McLeod Ganj, 10 minutes to Dalai Lama Temple and 15 minutes to the Tibetan Library.
Mai Thai opened in February 2005, and is McLeod Ganj's first and only Thai restaurant.
Mai Thai prides itself on presenting authentic Thai cuisine, prepared by our trained chef, in clean, comfortable modern surroundings.
Guests are able to relax in a modern interior, or outside on our terrace which has panoramic views of the Himalayas. The inside restaurant is smoke free, but guests are welcome to smoke outside if they wish.
Mai Thai can arrange and cater for parties, whatever the occasion. We have already hosted several successful events such as our celebrated losar party, and numerous weddings and birthday parties.
Mai Thai is owned and managed by an Australian, who has had a long standing interest in Thai food. She endeavours to uphold a high quality of service, presentation and cleanliness for visitors to Mai Thai in McLeod Ganj.
